Please note the following important dates and information about Uniforms for Fall 2017

JUNE 9th, 7PM to 9PM, SYSL Annual General Meeting at the Armory Cafe, 191 Highland Ave. All are welcome. (Due to light turn-out on May 24th we are hosting this event again. Please join us!)

JUNE 17th, 9AM-1PM Glen Field at Capuano School: 3rd Annual Spring Jamboree for for all In-Town Players and their Families. Please join us for fun and games.

JUNE 12th, 14th and 17th: FIELD EVALUATIONS FOR FALL 2017 (See Chart Below for details)

* Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of field evaluations to allow time to sing-up your player for the evaluation.

Why Field Evaluations are needed for Travel Teams?

1. Player evaluations consist of both coach and field evaluations. In order to perform a more consistent and fair evaluation throughout the league, field evaluations are an important way to have other experienced coaches assess players skills and observe these players skills with other players outside their team.
2. Travel teams need to be matched with the skill level of the opposing teams they will be facing in the travel league. Players are assessed to determine skill level to place in team that best fits their skill level and provide the adequate advantage for the team for a healthy and constructive competitive environment.

UNIFORMS FOR FALL 2017

All travel teams (Except U14) will need to purchase new uniforms for Fall 2017 on-line via Challenger Sportswear. In order to prepare for this change a representative from Challenger Sportswear will attend all 3 Field Evaluation Sessions including the Jamboree to perform uniform sizing for all players. At the weeknight evaluations, there will be a Challenger “Swag Bus” on hand to sell Somerville Youth Soccer Merchandise and place orders. A portion of the proceeds from all merchandise goes to our non-profit organization.
