Save the date! Our Fall Coaches meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 30th, from 6 to 8:30 PM, at The Armory Main Hall, 191 Highland Ave. This will be a joint meeting for both Travel and In-Town Coaches, and it is highly, highly recommended that you all attend – we will be having a lecturer from The Positive Coaching Alliance, a national organization that helps coaches encourage positive reinforcement, team-building and good sportsmanship. Following the lecture we will break off into age divisions with coordinators to discuss the coming season. Pizza will be served, of course.
You can learn more about this organization here: http://www.positivecoach.org/
If you have not already done so, please note that all volunteers in SYSL must complete the CORI process both through the state and through Mass Youth Soccer. It doesn’t take much time, but it must be completed before you take the field. Additionally, you must be certified in concussion awareness. A video and test can be found by going on the following page and downloading the link (CORI information here as well):
Rosters for the Travel League are available to be seen in ”SportsManager”. In-town teams will be available soon.
You will all soon be contacted by the Fields Coordinator to establish your team’s practice days, fields and times. We are still configuring available playing areas with the Recreation Department.
Thank you all for you continued commitment to SYSL. Let’s have a great Fall Season!
